Student Opportunities

The  UNO Geoscience Minority Program provides several opportunities to participating students:

1- The chance to study and be introduced to the geosciences in the field in classic geologic settings. This year the area visited is currently planned to include State and National Parks in southern Utah.

2- The opportunity to study and become friends with other talented students from LA. You will have the chance to learn and exchange ideas with other students and work in team situations. Some of these people can become lifelong friends and colleagues. It has happen to previous students.

3- The opportunity for one on one interaction with professor, teachers, and industry professionals. These interactions can help you decide what you might like to pursue as a career when you enter college.

4- For qualifying students who wish to pursue studies in the earth sciences at UNO, scholarships and other forms of assistance may be available.

5- A chance for a couple weeks of new experiences you will remember a lifetime.
